Small Group Experience

Intimate Small-Boat Cruise with Local Skipper

Overview

Ideal for travellers who want a boutique, locally run Milford Sound Cruise with fewer people and a relaxed, personal feel.

Step aboard our boutique small-boat cruise and experience Milford Sound as it was meant to be, personal, uncrowded, and deeply connected to this place. While our vessel is licensed to carry 150 passengers, we deliberately welcome no more than 75. This commitment to quality over quantity means more space to breathe, better views at every angle, and the chance for our nature guides to share their knowledge on a truly personal level.

As Fiordland locals, this is our backyard, and we love showing you the secret spots that bigger vessels pass by. Along the way, you’ll pause at treasures like the Hanging Gardens, the Fairy and Stirling Falls, and bustling seal colonies. Keep your eyes open for fur seals basking on the rocks, dolphins surfing the wake, and if you’re lucky, the rare Fiordland crested penguin in spring and early summer.

The smaller size of our boat allows us to slip closer to cliffs and waterfalls, giving you the unforgettable “Glacial Facial” beneath the mighty Stirling Falls. Between moments of wonder, relax with complimentary coffee, tea, and biscuits as your skipper shares stories of this awe-inspiring landscape.

Guests are always welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks to enjoy on board. Both vessels offer wheelchair access to the main deck and cabin, just let us know if you’d like more information.

This isn’t just a cruise; it’s an invitation to feel Milford Sound’s power and beauty the way locals do, up close, personal, and unforgettable.
